The first activity promoted by Relational Ontology Research (ROR) group in the academic year 2022-2023 was the Workshop on the background of the first Council of Nicaea: open questions<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The workshop was organized by the Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute<\/em> in collaboration with the Pontificio Istituto Orientale<\/em> and the Pontificia Universit\u00e0 della Santa Croce<\/em>, through ROR. It was held at the Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute<\/em>, in Ny\u00edregyh\u00e1za, Hungary, from 13 to 15 September.<\/p>\n

Participants were invited to examine the philosophical, theological, and political background of the First Council of Nicaea. The proceedings will be published in the Eastern Theological Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The main goals of the workshop were the following: to explore new aspects of research in Christology, to facilitate the progress of research to be presented at the workshop and several international academic meetings by 2025, in the 1700th<\/sup> anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, to form an ecumenical research group, with as many participating scholars from different Christian denominations as possible, to attract young researchers, Licentiate and PhD students to the project, to advance the academic results of research and strengthen personal connections, in order to serve God\u2019s plan of salvation to promote world peace and to stop the persecution of Christians.<\/p>\n

The opening and welcome were addressed by the Most Rev. F\u00fcl\u00f6p Kocsis, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archeparchy of Hajd\u00fadorog, by the Dean of Ecclesiastical Studies from the Pontificio Istituto Orientale, \u017deljko Pa\u0161a SJ, and by the Rector of the Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute, Tam\u00e1s V\u00e9ghse\u00f6.<\/p>\n

Followed Marco Rizzi, from the Universit\u00e0 Cattolica del Sacro Cuore at Milan, with a lectio magistralis<\/em> on Dalla Bibbia alla storia: Eusebio di Cesarea tra politica e cristologia<\/em>.<\/p>\n

During the three days of the workshop, dialogue emerged from the perspectives offered by the following contributors: L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Odrobina (Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute),\u00a0Istv\u00e1n Bug\u00e1r (University of Debrecen), Vito Limone (Universit\u00e0 Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan), \u00c1gnes T\u00f3th-Mih\u00e1lyk\u00f3 (University of Oslo \/ Austrian Academy of Sciences),\u00a0Daniel Galadza (Pontificio Istituto Orientale),\u00a0Daniele Iezzi (Universit\u00e0 Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan), Giulio Maspero<\/a> (Pontificia Universit\u00e0 della Santa Croce), Matteo Monfrinotti (Pontificio Ateneo Sant\u2019Anselmo, Rome), Mikl\u00f3s Gyurkovics (Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute), Veronika \u010cernu\u0161kov\u00e1 (Palack\u00fd University, Olomouc), Joseph S. O\u2019Leary (Sophia University, Tokyo), Csaba \u00d6tv\u00f6s (University of Debrecen), Tibor G\u00f6rf\u00f6l (Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute), Paolo Colizzi (Universit\u00e0 Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan), Zolt\u00e1n Szegv\u00e1ri (Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute), Ilaria Vigorelli<\/a> (Pontificia Universit\u00e0 della Santa Croce), \u00c1goston P\u00e9ter Bagyinszki OFM (Sapientia College of Theology of Religious Orders, Budapest), Attila Pusk\u00e1s (P\u00e1zm\u00e1ny P\u00e9ter Catholic University, Budapest), Kriszti\u00e1n Vincze (Saint Athanasius Greek Catholic Theological Institute).<\/p>\n

At the end, \u017deljko Pa\u0161a offered some reflections and plans for future workshops, and Istv\u00e1n Seszt\u00e1k presented the conclusions of the current workshop.<\/p>\n
