We receive and publish the following Call for proposals.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Dear esteemed colleagues,<\/p>\n I wish to invite you to participate in an exploratory workshop,\u00a0Speculative\u00a0Angelology<\/em>, in Rome, Italy, at 2:00 pm (14:00) CET on the afternoon of Wednesday, 20 December 2023.<\/p>\n With the support of\u00a0Prof. Giulio Maspero<\/a>,\u00a0\u00a0Prof. Ilaria Vigorelli<\/a>, and the\u00a0Relational Ontologies Research<\/a>\u00a0network, we plan to host a private exploratory workshop to discuss emerging ideas and initiate an interdisciplinary collaboration to renew the philosophical study of the angels for modern theology.<\/p>\n This workshop will be hosted in a hybrid format (in-person and online) in the magnificent\u00a0Aula Benedetto XVI<\/a>\u00a0room of the\u00a0Pontifical University of the Holy Cross<\/a>\u00a0(Santa Croce) in Rome, Italy, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm (14:00 to 18:00) on the afternoon of Wednesday 20 December 2023.<\/p>\n The Zoom link to remotely participate in this event is copied below:<\/p>\n https:\/\/us06web.zoom.us\/j\/83747289676?pwd=BcIkfO21QGXQHy0rheoS97iTATK8Ve.1<\/strong><\/p>\n For more details concerning this philosophical or\u00a0speculative\u00a0approach to the study of the angels, please find attached a short (1000 word) proposal for this workshop, along with a PDF copy of my published article, \u201cOrigen\u2019s\u00a0Speculative\u00a0Angelology\u201d.<\/p>\n The goal of this workshop will be to invite scholars in and beyond Rome to a private forum to discuss contemporary issues in\u00a0angelology, with the ultimate aspiration to prepare an international conference on\u00a0angelology, followed by the publication of an edited volume.<\/p>\n As this is only an initial exploratory workshop, no written remarks will be requested for this event.\u00a0 Instead, we will ask our guest speakers to share a brief summary of their research interests as these relate to the study of the angels, followed by a roundtable discussion of selected topics in\u00a0angelology.<\/p>\n Please consider sharing this invitation with your academic colleagues who could make a valuable contribution to this workshop.\u00a0 For those who would attend in person, we can plan to meet for lunch at a local restaurant in the nearby\u00a0Piazza Navona<\/a>\u00a0before the workshop, and continue after the workshop for a three-course candlelit dinner at the\u00a0American Academy in Rome<\/a>.\u00a0 For those who could not travel to Rome, we plan to facilitate remote participation for online guests with an integrated Zoom meeting.<\/p>\n Please, if you would, write to notify us as to whether you might wish to participate in this workshop,\u00a0Speculative\u00a0Angelology<\/em>.\u00a0 Please, if so, also indicate whether you plan to attend this event in person, or whether you wish to participate remotely via Zoom.\u00a0 Although no funding will be available for travel costs, I would be glad to offer advice concerning travel and accommodations in the Eternal City.<\/p>\n With blessings of the angels from Rome,<\/p>\n Ryan Haecker<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Poster<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n
