Two speakers participated in the seminar on the Italian philosopher Luigi Stefanini (1891-1956). Giuseppe Pintus (Univ. Sassari) presented a general overview of the author and dwelt on some aspects that highlight his relevance, particularly around the theme of personal identity and relationship. Ariberto Acerbi (Pusc) considered Stefanini’s main exegetical work, Plato (1932), and illustrated its theoretical elaboration in the author’s subsequent production, focusing on the idea and method of philosophy.
The seminar was part of a cycle dedicated to the theme “Intelligence and person”, which covered figures of Christian philosophers of the 20th century, such as, in addition to Stefanini, Pareyson and Maritain, who were united by a personalist inspiration, albeit declined in markedly different forms.
