Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum, Rome, November 3-6 2025
The ROR was invited to participate as a research group in the ninth edition of the World Congress of Metaphysics (WCM), held in Rome from 3 to 6 November at the Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum: “Science and experience open to the absolute”. The WCM brought together scholars and researchers from around the world to reflect interdisciplinarily on the fundamental questions concerning reality and existence. The goal of the conference, given the profound anthropological crisis marking our era, which is dominated by a pronounced predominance of technology and a hesitant approach to the search for metaphysical foundations, was to conduct a reflection that would lead to a more robust understanding of the constitutive elements of the human being and the person in their integral conception.
The impulse of the sciences, besides redefining the ultimate purpose of humanity and its cognitive and relational endeavours, aims to challenge the narrative and ideologizing pressure of all visions originating from nihilism, which have profoundly negative effects on the human condition. In particular, the presentations highlighted the impact of Trinitarian patristic thought in configuring the Christian ontological novelty and its influence on the understanding of the world and humanity. On the occasion of the WCM, it also emerged that the proposal of relational ontology is beginning to be considered an authoritative voice in the panorama of contemporary metaphysical research.
