Andrea Bellantone

Andrea Bellantone is Professor of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy of the Institut Catholique de Toulouse, of which he was Dean from 2014 to 2024.
He is currently Scientific Director of the Chaire d’enseignement et de recherche “Philosophie du Christianisme” and Director of the Collège Doctoral of the Institut Catholique de Toulouse. He directs, for the publisher Hermann (Paris) the series Philosophies de l’esprit and the series Philosophie italienne.
His research interests focus on the reception of German thought in France (Hegel in France, 2 vols., Rubettino, 2007; tr. fr. Hegel en France, 2 vols., Hermann, 2011) and on philosophies of the spirit from Maine de Biran to Lavelle, via Ravaisson and Bergson (La métaphysique possible. Philosophies de l’esprit et modernité, Hermann, 2012). He also works on French phenomenology (particularly Michel Henry and Jean-Luc Marion).
Since 2019, he has been a full member of Section III of the Académie Catholique de France (Philosophie et Théologie).
